In einem  Instagram-Post  vom Sonntag, dem 31. August, veröffentlichte der 61-jährige Charles ein Foto der Blumen, die er zur  Grabstätte  der verstorbenen Prinzessin von Wales auf dem Althorp Estate brachte, um  den 28. Jahrestag ihres Todes zu begehen .

„Blumen, die wir heute Morgen in Althorps Gärten für die Insel geschnitten haben“, schrieb er in der Bildunterschrift und bezog sich dabei auf Dianas Grab auf dem Anwesen seiner Familie in West Northamptonshire, England. „Immer ein unmöglicher Tag“, sagte Charles.

Das Foto des Straußes aus weißen und rosa Rosen zu Ehren von Diana wurde zusammen mit einem Schnappschuss der Privatinsel in den Althorp Gardens geteilt, auf der sie begraben liegt.

Prinzessin Diana kam am 31. August 1997 zusammen mit ihrem Partner Dodi Fayed und dem Fahrer Henri Paul bei einem verheerenden Autounfall in Paris ums Leben   . Die geliebte Königin hinterließ ihre beiden Söhne,  den damals 15-jährigen Prinz William und  den damals 12-jährigen Prinz Harry , die sie mit  König Charles , dem ehemaligen Prinzen von Wales, hatte.

Prinzessin Dianas letzte Ruhestätte auf Althorp Estate wurde  von ihrem Bruder Charles bestimmt . Sie ist auf einer abgeschiedenen Privatinsel in den Pleasure Gardens auf dem Gelände begraben, die auch als Oval Lake Grave bekannt ist.
